Executive Producer & Lead – Rostered On
Taking everything I’d learned, I decided to bet on myself. I invested 10k of my own cash to workshop, cast and Executive Produce — and star in — a small web series called Rostered On. Shot guerrilla-style with a green local crew, it captured the raw humour of Aussie retail life. What started as a passion project went viral, amassing more than 250 million views worldwide and proving that authentic storytelling still connects.
Netflix took notice, making Rostered On the first Australian YouTube series ever purchased by Netflix, giving our grassroots team a global audience. Seven Mate later funded Season 2, developing a spin-off series called Counter Girls. The project became a cultural phenomenon — a testament to what can happen when you take creative risks, back yourself, and build something real from the ground up.

Winners & Losers
Lucky Break
Persistence paid off when I landed the role of Wes Fitzpatrick on Channel 7’s Winners & Losers, giving me first-hand insight into prime-time television.
I only got the audition because my partner at the time, Sarah Grace, had landed the role of Bridget. When producers asked if she knew any actors who could play her husband, she said, “My real husband’s an actor!”
I felt like my agent didn’t think I stood a chance — but a few days later, I got the call. There was nothing more satisfying than hearing Catherine Poultan say “Guess what? They want you!”. What began as a two-week gig turned into a five-year run.
It was a proud moment that taught me: never let others define you — and if you make people’s jobs easier, they’ll always want to work with you.

From Panic Attacks to Performance Confidence
I founded Moore Acting Instinct (MAI) in Geelong the moment I mustered up the courage to charge at my panic attacks. I could go from hero to zero in seconds — one thought could undo me. Then I cracked the code: stop fighting fear and invite it.
When I started asking for the panic — even looking forward to it — I tricked my mind and took back control. That shift changed everything. My vision was simple but bold: create a space where actors train on camera from day one, build resilience through discomfort, and grow by understanding their own performance psychology.

Stashamo High – A feature film. If you can do it, do it.
Shot guerrilla-style in Geelong, Stashamo High is Paul Moore’s bold new feature film — a raw, authentic take on the chaos and humour of school life.
Drawing from years as a teacher, Moore says, “I’ve seen things I shouldn’t have seen in the teaching industry. People wouldn’t believe what teachers deal with behind closed doors.”
Made independently with local actors from Moore Acting Instinct Studios, the film proves you don’t need Hollywood to tell powerful stories. “You’ve got to make your own work,” Moore says. “If it’s authentic, it’ll be received well.”

Building Moore Acting Instinct (MAI) Studios in Geelong
I founded Moore Acting Instinct (MAI) with a bold mission: to create a space where actors train on camera from day one, build resilience by facing discomfort, and grow through exploring their performance psychology. At MAI, we teach actors to feel comfortable feeling uncomfortable — because that’s where growth begins.
Born from lived experience — years of panic attacks, self-doubt, and the search for emotional truth — the studio became more than a training space. It’s a place where actors turn fear into fuel, peeling back layers of conditioning to find authentic presence.
Over the past decade, MAI has evolved into a laboratory for human behaviour. Our actors explore vulnerability, reconnect with curiosity, and discover that confidence is not found — it’s built through honest work, self-awareness, and instinct.

Training at the Stella Adler Academy in Los Angeles
This drive led me overseas to the Stella Adler Academy of Acting in Los Angeles, one of the world’s most respected acting schools. Immersed in the craft, I studied not only technique but the psychology behind performance — learning that true acting begins with understanding the human mind.
In the States, I quickly realised that confidence isn’t optional — it’s the culture. When they ask, “Who’s next?” if you hesitate, you miss your shot. Americans know they’re good, and they’re not afraid to step forward and prove it. That fearless mindset changed me.
I grew into that attitude — not arrogance, but self-belief — and it became the foundation for my own teaching philosophy. Acting isn’t just about performing a character; it’s about knowing yourself well enough to step into any moment without fear.

Teaching and Leadership
Teaching didn’t come naturally. I had to step out of my comfort zone every single day — facing anxiety head-on, standing in front of groups while my heart raced and my hands shook. But I stayed there. I sat in the discomfort long enough to understand where it came from, and that changed everything.
Over time, I developed a dynamic teaching style that allows me to pivot in the moment and connect with every kind of student — whether they’re actors searching for truth, students building confidence, or professionals learning to speak with presence.
I battled the destructive thoughts that told me I wasn’t good enough, but persistence turned those fears into fuel. I completed a teaching degree to combine academic knowledge with creative practice, and discovered that confidence isn’t something you’re born with — it’s built, rehearsed, and strengthened like a muscle.

Innovating Acting With AI
Now, my focus is on the future of acting and performance training. I believe true innovation happens where art meets technology. Through AI-assisted rehearsal tools, actors can now learn lines faster, strengthen instinct, and rehearse anywhere, anytime.
As both a filmmaker and acting coach, I’m blending neuroscience-inspired training with digital tools that deepen character work and sharpen focus under pressure. Because if you don’t know your lines, you’ll be searching for them — and that takes you out of the moment. Learn your lines, own the moment, and if you need help, you’re in the right place.
My mission is to make Geelong a creative hub for cutting-edge performance and film production, producing a new feature every year that gives local actors the opportunity to shine on screen and grow through the process.
